75 pounds, 22 inches, light

"Chaamp"
is owned, hunt test trained, and hunted by Bob Louie Shown to Championship title and Rally
titles by Kathy

I found "Chaamp" one day when I was surfing the
net and I saw pictures of him at a hunt test. I was struck by how "balanced" he looked. I contacted
his owner, Bob Louie, and made arrangements to go north and see this fine looking boy in person. When I meet up with
Bob and Chaamp, I knew I had found a fabulous male to be able to possibly use in the future with one of my girls. While
talking to Bob I just kept saying over and over how much this boy needed to be put into the show ring to try to earn his Championship
title.
One thing led to another, and Chaamp
ended up coming down to Whiskey Creek so I could handle him in a few shows to try to earn his Championship title. Our
first weekend out was interesting to say the least. No points earned, but I learned a lot about Chaamp. After
three weeks of "boot camp" where he learned the finer points of being a "show dog," we got a nice little
payback by going Winners Dog/Best of Winners for his first point at his fourth show. At his fifth-seventh shows he had
a clean sweep where he went Winners Dog for three 3 point majors! Ten down, five to go!
Going into our fourth
show weekend since I received Chaamp just seven weeks before, he went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for a five point major
which finished his "show career" in NINE shows!
Chaamp
was pulling "double duty" while doing his conformation showing.
While in "boot camp" I noticed
his ability to take directions easily. I started to do some Rally skills with him and he did most of them with little
problem. I asked Bob if he would mind if I showed him in Rally Obedience as well as doing conformation...Bob was all
for it! So at his second weekend out doing conformation, he was showing in his first weekend of Rally. A first
place and a fourth place (beaten by time, not score) he was on the road to earning his Rally titles! Third weekend out
showing in conformation he earned his Rally Novice title and two legs towards his Rally Advanced title. Fourth weekend
out, a new Rally Advanced title and two legs towards his Rally Excellent title!
Due to no trials in the near future,
Chaamp will have to wait to get that final leg for his Excellent title.
While at home in Delaware, Chaamp is used as a water
fowling guide dog with DelBay Guide Service. He is Bob's favorite dog to bring out hunting as he is great in the blind, and
never lets a bird get away!
"Chaamp" has his Master Hunter title and is amateur owned and trained.
I have been contacted by several people
that have seen Chaamp run and all of them say that
Chaamp is stylish, hard driving, and a dog that is a pleasure to
watch.
I have found that Chaamp is a very easy going, quiet, well mannered, and good with other animals.
He is a quick study who likes to learn new skills. The solid foundation that Bob put in Chaamp has made training a breeze!
Biddable and willing, with no sulking has made training this dog a true pleasure!
No matter where I bring
Chaamp, he gets complements on his good looks and his great temperament.
Thank you Bob for giving me the opportunity
to show off your fabulous boy!
Is AGILITY in Chaamp's future?!?
We will have to see if I can convince Bob to let
him come back down south for some agility fun!
Chaamp seems to have a knack for it...time will only tell if he will be
one of very few CH/MH/Agility titled Chesapeakes!
Chaamp sired his first litter of puppies in July 2011.
They look like they have Chaamps great coat and conformation.
