Reid was the biggest " smiler" of the Walker x Brier puppies.
A BIG crowd pleaser she is the one that my husband and all of my friends picked out of the litter.
Smaller then her sister Twiggy, but very correct conformationally.
She moves like a dream and swims like a fish.
Active and happy, her choice of activities is to retrieve,
but has proven herself very well in other venues such as Rally and Dock Diving.

Reid is a perpetual clown that surprises me in MANY ways!
When I questioned her ability to "settle down" and get busy working,
she has shown me time and time again that she can indeed do the job at hand!
Reid would be what I consider your more "typical" Chesapeake in temperament, more reserve around strangers, but once she "knows" you she is back to her fun and entertaining tricks!

Reid's RAVES!

2010

20 June- Reid made her AKC show debut and what a showing she did!  She was shown in Bred By Exhibitor (the only one in her class) and went on to Winners Bitch.  There was only one other bitch and Reid took the point!  She went on to show in Best of Breed and took Best of Opposite!  I was SO pleased and excited!
She then had to wait for HOURS in the heat for our Rally class to start.  She had a really good showing, although she BOUNCED and I had to re-do a station.  We are going to have to learn to SPEED UP as she would have placed but we missed it because we were one second too slow.  She finished out her second leg with a score of 93.  Not too shabby for a girl that has yet to have any "formal" training.  One more leg to go!  We hope to earn it at the Greenville, SC Chesapeake Supported Entry in a little over a month!  Wish us LUCK!!!

11 June- Reid and sister Twiggy went to the Palmetto Obedience Club Rally trial.  I was a little nervous because I have had NO formal training with these girls.  I have NO CLUE how well we are doing except to do trials and see if the work I am putting into them is paying off.  It is nice to be in a class and get feedback from fellow students and an instructor, but alas, I am unable to find a training center that I can train at.  With that said, we went and tried our best and in the end, we came out with a score of 88 and just out of the ribbons by ONE point!  The judge was a little heavier handed then what I am use to and LOVED to give one point deductions!  After watching the video of us performing, I feel like we did pretty good even with the one "bobble" and re-do we had.  One leg down, two to go!

12-14 February- This girl is a JUMPER!  When Reid was 10 weeks old and we were visiting my friend Marie down on Hilton Head Island who has a pool in her back yard.  Reid would JUMP off the side of the pool over and over again.  We would have to take her out and put her up as she would be SO tired, yet if you threw something in the pool...in she'd go to get it!
Jerry and I went down to Charleston to do Dock Dogs at the South Eastern Wildlife Expo.   The last time I had Reid and her sister swimming was back in October.  It was FREEZING down in Charleston, they even had SNOW Friday evening!  Needless to say, jumping conditions were not optimum for two young (8 months old) puppies, but the weather never even FAZED Reid, she jumped off that dock and just kept on jumping!  She jumped eight for eight and even placed in six of them!  Reid has her first dock jumping title, a Novice Jumper- National with Dock Dogs!

5-7 February -  I took Reid and Twigs down to Georgia to an UKC show.  I have been a little worried about showing them because they are pretty immature acting and I did not think that they were ready to show against much more mature dogs.  Oh did the girls ever prove me wrong!  Reid won two Best Females and then took Best of Breed to move on to the Groups.  I was SO thrilled with Reid when she went Group ONE and beat out several dogs that had a lot more age on her (I overheard one lady say her Setter had just turned 3 years old!).  Reid showed her heart out in the Best In Show ring, but with all of the Groups showing and having more maturity on them, she just did not make the cut.  In the end, I could not be any more proud of my little Reid girl!

2009
October-  Reid and Twigs went to a UKC "Gun Dog Specialty" show where they were both entered in the Puppy Specilty.  The girls had to go up against one another and Reid won out.  Reid then went on to win Best Puppy in Specialty Show (BPISS) not once, but TWICE in the same day making her a MULTIPLE Best Puppy In Show Specialty!  Way to go REID!

27 September-  Reid, Twigs, and I went down the to the Greer, SC double header B Matches to see how the girls were going to stack up against the other competition!

Reid did VERY well being as though I passed her off to a complete stranger to handle for me.  I actually think that Reid can stack and stand MUCH better then her sister Twigs, but Reid is SUCH a feminine girl shown against her sister who looks like a football linebacker, it is going to be a hard win!  Reid came in Reserve puppy in both the Greenville Kennel Club show and the Clemson Kennel Club show.  I really wish there were two of me as I really think Reid would have shown MUCH better for me as she was dancing a turning trying to look for me.

I have said that I think even though Reid was VERY unsure of herself, she showed GREAT and I expect that in a few months when I bring her out to show in the regular shows, she is going to take them by storm!
