April 13- Evin's first UKC/Ultimate Air Dogs (UAD) event was
fairly entertaining. I took it for granted that she would FLY off the dock because she FLIES off the dock at a
lake we frequent. So I did not even bother to warm her up. Instead, I put her on the dock for her first jump and
threw the bumper just to watch her slam on the breaks and stand at the end of the dock! I finally got her to jump, but
her jump was all of 8 feet and was done from a stand instead of by running from the other end of the dock.
By the
end of the event (there were only 3 jumps) she had gotten better, but still wasn't what I had expected her to do.
In the finals she gave me a surprise of jumping over 15 feet and with very nice form! Good Puppy!
June
13- Needing one more jump to earn her Junior Jumper title I entered Evin in a LOT of jumps at the UKC Premier shows.
She started with jumps around 15 feet and ended jumping 18 feet and needing one more jump in the Senior Division to earn her
Senior Jumper Champion title!
July 13- At the Bele Chere street Festival in Asheville, NC Evin jumped her way into
her Senior Jumper Champion title (U-SJCH) and worked her way to her Senior Grand Champion title!

To compete in Coursing, a dog must be one year old. Evin turned a year old in
May, so this was her first 'official' Coursing event she could participate in (I had done 'practice runs' with her prior
to this). There were six runs available throughout the long weekend and Evin competed in all six of them running
with speed and enthusiasm! SO much enthusiasm that on her first run, she actually ran the WHOLE course again WITHOUT
the lure running! Silly puppy!
She ended the weekend earning her Coursing Ability title (U-CA) making
her the FIRST Chesapeake (along with her cousin Violet!) to earn a UKC Coursing title!
